Tom Scarda and The Franchise Academy (TFA) advise 40 percent of the people who contact them to not purchase a franchise.

The Franchise Academy does not make as many placements as some of its rivals. That is because TFA does an in-depth assessment of their candidates through various tools, including in-depth Zoom calls, goal-building exercises, and Zorakle Franchisee Profiling software.

Quarterly, unlike most Franchise Consultants, Tom Scarda continues to talk with those who acquire a franchise as they build their business, acting as a personal franchise coach and mentor. That is because Tom was in your shoes 22 years ago. He knows what it’s like to make a transition from signing the back of a paycheck to signing the front of the check, the anxiety that comes with that, and everything that goes into building a new franchise unit in the first few years.

Tom was a New York City Subway Train Conductor for 13 years before purchasing his first franchise. As a government worker, that change was huge; however, that investment and transition changed his life forever. The business put his family on a better financial trajectory and also positively impacted people who were eventually employed by the local franchise. Scarda sold that franchise within five years and semi-retired at age 41. He bought a second franchise that failed and almost caused him to go bankrupt - But that’s what makes Tom such an expert. He wrote a book about the experience, called Franchise Savvy, that became a bestseller on Amazon. The book was written to help others not make the mistakes Tom made the second time around.

The Franchise Academy recently launched an online masterclass on how to invest in a franchise properly. The course is the first of its kind in the industry. The course is geared toward potential investors to learn from Tom, become their own franchise expert, and do their personal franchise assessment on their own time.

Tom is a leader and dedicated to the franchise industry. He received his Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) designation ten years ago and has an unrelenting passion for educating people about franchising through his podcast, The Franchise Academy, launched in 2014. Tom is committed to you and the success of your future franchise business.
